On Monday, May 3rd, Myspace will be live streaming The Dead Weather performing their latest release, Sea of Cowards in its entirety. In tour news, The Dead Weather have also added an intimate show to their Australian tour at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory this Saturday, March 27th. The pre-sale for Frontier Touring members will be open for three hours only on Thursday 25 March from 3pm - 6pm AEDT. MARCH 19, 2010 | Reports suggest the new album will be titled 'Sea of Cowards', to be released May 7th. This is less than a year after Horehound.
Also it seems a video for the lead single 'Die By The Drop' has already been made, and we can expect it soon. The director is Floria Sigismondi, who did White Stripes' Blue Orchid video, as well as some of Marilyn Manson's videos from the Antichrist Superstar era, and the new Runaways movie. Comment |
MARCH 18, 2010 | The lead single from The Dead Weather's 2nd album will be 'Die By The Drop', with B-side 'Old Mary', to be released March 23rd, 2010.
What's even more exciting is your first listen to the new album. Amazon.com have added The Dead Weather's first single from the forthcoming album to their catalog. Current you can only listen to 30 second grabs, but it's undeniably Jack White and Alison Mosshart on vocals, and the recording is definitely in-the-studio (so no chance of a hoax here). Unfortunately, the full length versions are unavailable until the release date.
Click here to listen to the first single 'Die By The Drop'.
Could this mean the band are preparing to launch the album? Well if we go by the previous album 'Horehound', the album was released almost four months to the day after the initial single 'Hang You From The Heavens'. If the same schedule hold true for this album, we may be looking at a July release. Album is due for release May 7th.
The 'Die By The Drop' artwork has been added to the pictures section. [ 1 Comment ] - Comment |
